You just cannot beat a free range egg and since getting our girls we have never had a supermarket egg again. We use the eggs laid by our girls in our cakes and desserts and we feel this adds to the classic freshly baked taste. Occasionally though our Girls can't keep up with our orders, in which case we source local free range eggs to use instead.
We have 10 chickens at the moment and looking to add to our collection.
Of the 10 we have 4 Bovan Goldlines (your standard brown Hen), a Black Rock, Fenning Cuckoo, 2 Blue Brahma, a White Sussex and a White Star
They have names too courtesy of our 3 young boys.
Strawberry, Speckles, Cuckoo, Dino, Yolk , Roxie, Shadow, Feathers, Gladys and Mrs Feather-bottom!
